Despite strong arguments for the benefits of Jamaica's casino games, most Jamaicans are still completely opposed to the idea.

"According to a Don Anderson poll commissioned by Greener, 56.7 percent of Jamaicans oppose the introduction of casino games, while 42 percent want to roll the dice.

"Tourism stakeholders have consistently argued that the introduction of that form of entertainment will add value to the island's tourism products. Patriot, an affiliate of the ruling Kuomintang, also called on the government to conduct research on the pros and cons of casino games.

"...29 percent are confident that casino games will increase crime and violence. This view is held by people over 35 years of age.

"...more than 37% of those who are in favor of introducing casino gambling think it will improve the economy." 바다이야기
